The sole purpose of a Management Survey is to locate, as far as possible the presence of any asbestos containing materials which could be damaged or disturbed during the day to day use of the building. This survey is not intrusive so will not identify asbestos containing materials that may be hidden within the fabric of the building. It should not be relied upon for renovations or building works.
Refurbishment or Demolition Survey
This survey is will be required before any refurbishment or demolition work is carried out. Refurbishment or Demolition Surveys will locate, as far as is reasonably practicable all asbestos containing materials in the area where the refurbishment work will be carried out or in the whole building if demolition is planned. This type of survey is intrusive to gain access to all parts of the building, including voids.
Condition reviews of Asbestos containing Materials
To comply with The Control of Asbestos Regulations, Regulation 4 (The Duty to Manage) if asbestos containing materials have been identified at your site, they need to be managed. The condition of identified materials should be checked at least annually to make sure that they have not deteriorated or become damaged.
